A Very Well Made Sequel Is A Very Big Improvement On The First Part!!
There is a saying that sometimes the sequel is so much better than the original movie. And Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a perfect example of that only. Venom: Let There Be Carnage was just a fun ride from the start to the finish. I will say that it might be the best Comic Book Movie of the year.
I know I said the same thing about The Suicide Squad, but Venom 2 is just as good as well. It was everything I ever wanted in a Venom movie and it rocked. It was such an improvement from the first part. There were so many improvements in the sequel as compared to the first part. Objectively speaking this movie also had so many negative points, but subjectively I had so much fun that I did not care about them.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage Review, Plot, And Other Details

Venom: Let There Be Carnage: Plot/Storyline
The sequel picks up directly after the end of the first movie. Eddie is still trying to be a journalist instead of a video host. And his symbiote friend Venom is distracting him like always. Eddie is trying everything to keep Venom happy and gives him chocolate-containing chemicals regularly so that he won’t eat him from inside. But, Venom’s thirst for the human brain is increasing.
And this creates a lot of problems for Eddie. And the thirst of Venom is increasing so rapidly that it reaches the ear of serial killer Cletus Kassidy a.k.a Carnage. It is such an easy movie to make. Take Venom, who is loved by everyone. Take Carnage, who is also loved by everyone. And just let them fight with sensible character development and plot progression. And the makers did exactly that and it worked out so well.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage: What Worked For The Movie?
Casting
Tom Hardy was perfect for Venom. And let me say Woody Harrelson plays the role of Carnage perfectly as well. The demented look of a serial killer, those toxic and manipulative eyes. That calm but sinister look, everything was on point and was brilliant. The dramatic changes in his mood were so brilliantly done that I really can’t ask for anything better than this.
Character Work
I never thought that the best thing in a Venom movie will be the character work of the movie. It is such an improvement from the first one. The conflict between Eddie and Cletus felt real and intense. As well as the relationship between Eddie and Venom felt natural and they actually acted like a couple on the verge of breaking up.
Action
The action of this movie was really good. Not on par with some other Comic book movies, but still very good. It was split perfectly in the movie and none of the action scenes felt too long.
CGI
The CGI of this movie was also brilliant. I had some doubts about CGI after watching the trailer, but the movie really proved me wrong. Because it was really good and none of it felt unreal in any sense.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage Review: What Did Not Worked For The Movie?
Plot
I think that the plot of the movie was a little bit weak. It was not bad in any sense but was just on the weak side of the movie. There were certain things that really did not make any sense. As the motivations of Carnage were a little bit dodgy and unclear throughout the movie. I still don’t think he had a valid reason to do what he was doing. And there were other things like that too.
Rushed
Yes, when you try to import as many things as possible in only 90 minutes, the movie is bound to be rushed. And Venom was super rushed in that sense. After all, they imported everything in just 90 minutes only.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage Review: Is It Worth It?
Even after a weak plot and certain other problems, it was a really fun movie to watch. I had a really great time while watching this movie. And if I get a chance, I will love watching it again. So, YES! Venom: Let There Be Carnage is really worth it!!
