The Woman in the Window Trailer, Plot, Cast, Release Date, and Other Details: The long-delayed trailer of “The Woman in the Window” finally released and it looks amazing. The movie was supposed to hit theaters last year and was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. But it was never able to hit the theaters due to two factors. First Disney acquired Fox studio and it changed lots and lots of plans and another one was the pandemic. And after some exclusive reshoots, Disney sold The Woman in the Window to Netflix. And now the movie is all set to release on Netflix rather than the theaters.

The Woman in the Window trailer was released earlier today and it looked awesome. It looks like a perfect thriller that will make you sit on the edge of your seats throughout. If it wasn’t for the virus I would have gladly seen The Woman in the Window on the big screen. I was still hoping that they do that but now it won’t be happening. The Woman in the Window will be one of Netflix’s biggest releases this year. The movie is based on AJ Finn’s bestseller novel of the same name. And if you have read the book you will know it was quite amazing.

The Woman in the Window Plot

According to Netflix’s official synopsis “Anna Fox is an agoraphobic child psychologist who finds herself keeping tabs on the picture-perfect family across the street through the windows of her New York City brownstone. Her life is turned upside down when she inadvertently witnesses a brutal crime. Based on the gripping, best-selling novel and adapted by Tracy Letts, shocking secrets are revealed and nothing and no one is what they seem in this suspenseful psychological thriller”

The plot of the movie is as thrilling as it sounds. Anna is an agoraphobic psychologist but is suffering from depression herself. It puts her on heavy medication and stops her from going outside her house. She just wants to avoid the crowd as much as possible, or it will be better to say that she wants to avoid people altogether. She is happy watching other people through her window only. Things change when a new couple moves into the locality and becomes Anna’s neighbor.

Things took a turn for the worst when Anna saw Jane being stabbed. Anna calls the police and the thriller starts from there. A new woman claims to be Jane and completely shakes Anna’s world. Was she hallucinating all this time? Is there no Jane? Or the mystery is so much bigger than she could possibly imagine? The Woman in the Window will answer all these questions once t comes out.

Not going to lie, the plot looks like a bestseller. I don’t know much about the book but from everything I have heard about it, it was pretty good. So, it all depends on how well the makers will adapt the book. If they can adapt the complete story without rushing it, it can be one of the best movies of the year.

The Woman in the Window Release Date

The movie is all set to release on May 14, 2021. The movie was supposed to release last year but wasn’t able to. It will be 1 hour 40 minutes long and that makes it a perfect thing to watch this weekend. I think this might also be a bad decision. Because adapting a complete book in less than 2 hours is risky and we have seen so many failed attempts over the years. We will have to just hope that it turns out good. The movie will release on Netflix without any regional boundary, so you can enjoy it from anywhere in the world.

The Woman in the Window Cast

The movie cast Amy Adams as Anna Fox and Julianne Moore as Jane. These are the two main stars of the movie. Other cast includes Donat Balaj as Jacob, Anthony Mackie as Ed Fox, Fred Hechinger as Ethan, and Wyatt Russell as David. Gary Oldman as Alistair Russell, Brian Tyree Henry as Little, Jeanine Serralles as Norelli, Mariah Bozeman as Olivia, Liza Colón-Zayas as Bina, Anna Cameron as Alex, Ben Davis as Steve, and Rand Guerrero as McNamara. For a movie where the lead doesn’t like to meet people, the cast is quite long. You can read the full cast list on IMDB or Netflix’s official site.

Joe Wright is the director of the movie. Tracy Letts has written the screenplay of the movie supervised by AJ Finn. Eli Bush, Anthony Katagas, and Scott Rudin are producing the movie. Danny Elfman is the in-charge of the music, and Bruno Delbonnel is handling the cinematography.

The Woman in the Window: What To Expect?

I mean, you are going to watch this movie as a thriller so expect that only. And by the looks of the trailer and other stuff, it will be a good thriller. If the pacing is right the movie will definitely be a hit and no one can deny that. The cast is strong and every actor has produced some acting gems over the years. Especially, Amy Adams. It will be my first time seeing her in this type of role after Arrival in 2016, so I am excited for that.
