There is a saying that sometimes ‘More Is Better. That is the case with The Hitman’s Wife Bodyguard. The movie released a few days ago in certain parts of the world. The Hitmans Wifes Bodyguard is a sequel to the 2017 hit movie The Hitmans Wifes Bodyguard. And it has the same vibe to it. It is a perfect movie to watch when you have nothing else to do. It is a perfect time killer. And everything is more in it. You will get more jokes than the first part, more action scenes than the first part, and more gore than the first part. So, if you were thinking that ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard‘ lacked something, this sequel will complete that for you.

The Hitmans Wifes Bodyguard is one of those few gore comedy movies that are rare to see. People were getting killed right and left in this movie. And they didn’t hold back even a little bit. You can easily see the brain being splattered around, limbs being taken out and every shot was right in the head. It is a treat to see these kinds of action scenes. The combo of Jackson, Hayek, and Banderas makes it feel like a late 90s Robert Rodriguez movie. Antonio Banderas and I just hope that they cast Kevin Costner as the villain for the third part and complete the holy trilogy.

The official synopsis of the movie reads “The world’s most lethal odd couple – bodyguard Michael Bryce and hitman Darius Kincaid – are back on another life-threatening mission. Still unlicensed and under scrutiny, Bryce is forced into action by Darius’s even more volatile wife, the infamous international con artist Sonia Kincaid. As Bryce is driven over the edge by his two most dangerous protectees, the trio gets in over their heads in a global plot and soon finds that they are all that stands between Europe and a vengeful and powerful madman. The plot of the movie is as simple as it can get. The movie is set four years after the events of the first movie. Michael Bryce is on a company-mandated sabbatical. He was trying to save Darius from yet another assassination when Darius’s wife saves him. But it is not a simple assassination attempt. There is more to the picture than anyone can see. Will the odd trio be able to save the world? Because that is how big the picture really is.
The Hitman’s Wife’s Cast
The movie really focuses on Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson mainly. And that is a good thing in some sort of way. The chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson is amazing. We have seen that in the first part also. And they did good work here too. Samuel L. Jackson’s comedy timing is just a work of art. He never missed a single beat to deliver a punchline. And Ryan’s reaction to those punchlines was perfect considering the mood. It doesn’t mean that Salma Hayek was completely ignored. She also had some high points in the movie. Especially her action scenes were brilliant.
The Hitman’s Wife’s Direction
I really liked the direction of the movie. It was nothing new or extraordinary that we haven’t seen in other action movies. The movie had a similar vibe to the first part and the direction played a big part in that. The wide-angle shots of the movie were quite brilliant.
The Hitman’s Wife’s: Is It Worth It?
Absolutely Yes! You can watch this movie without any worries. That is if the gore doesn’t disturb you. But if you are fine with all the bloodshed and gore, you should absolutely watch it. It is a treat to watch this movie. There are few misses here and there but it doesn’t affect the movie in any way. The movie will release worldwide on different dates in June only. So, if you were thinking about whether to watch this movie in halls amidst a pandemic, you can seriously consider it. You will be entertained throughout the movie.
