The Good Doctor Review, The Good Doctor might be the perfect show for all the medical drama fans.
The Good Doctor Review, hen the first episode ‘The Good Doctor’ was released four years ago, no one thought it would be this good. Nobody thought it would work out this brilliantly. The fans were waiting for another good medical drama after shows like Grey’s Anatomy, House, Nurse Jackie, and ER were finished. And this ABC drama was the perfect thing that they got. On paper, it should not have worked this well. But just after three episodes, The Good Doctor became the most-watched TV Show on US Television. And that statistic speaks for itself.
Now that the fifth season of the show is really close, we decided to review the whole show. So let’s get on with it.
The Good Doctor Review

The Good Doctor: Plot
The official synopsis of the show reads “Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and Savant syndrome, is recruited into the surgical unit of a prestigious hospital”.
And basically, that is the whole plot of the series. But the nice thing about the good doctor is that it’s more about a person who has autism trying to figure out life. How to be a good surgeon by communicating and how to have a romantic relationship are the basic challenges he faces. In that way, it’s not like any other medical show.
If you are planning to watch the show give it about 3 episodes to see if you like it. After the Pilot, it does change the pace a little bit. But as the story progresses it becomes more constructive and the layers keep getting added to the show. And as I have already said that it is more than a normal medical drama as it shows us much more aspects of life and that is why it feels so refreshing.

The Good Doctor: Positives
Emotions
I don’t know if I am right or not, but The Good Doctor is more than a normal patient and doctor show. The way it deals with the emotional aspects of every person is just amazing. There is one particular scene right in the pilot episode that almost made me cry. The monologue by Shaun on why the hospital should hire him is one of the best things I have heard in quite a while. Right from that scene, I knew that I had to watch this show no matter what. And I don’t regret it even a single bit.
Sub-Plots
Apart from the main plot, the sub-plots of this show are just brilliant. As I have said earlier it not only deals with the doctor and patient stuff. The romance that goes into each episode makes it so much better. The battle of Shaun against his own demons is just brilliant. And the way the makers have told the story is just mesmerizing. After the first few episodes, as soon as the show establishes everything, it becomes so good so fast.
The Good Doctor: Negatives
Waltman Arc
I thought this was a personal opinion, but as I checked various forums of the show, I realized that many fans didn’t like Waltman and his wife. Aaron Glassman might be one of the most annoying characters ever. And the way she dominated the show in various seasons really left a distaste. I was on the verge of dropping it, but once again, I love the show so much to drop it anytime soon.
The Good Doctor Review: Is It Worth It?
You might already know what I am going to say. Obviously “The Good Doctor” is worth your time. It is one of the best shows in recent times. Yes, there might be some low points in the show, but that doesn’t take anything away from the show as a whole. The positives completely outshine the negatives and it is a brilliant show that you should watch. And the best thing is that even if you are not related to the medical field in any way, you will still enjoy this show.
