June is a very big month for upcoming series on Netflix. June has always been a start for good web series on the OTT network. Believe me, when the Sweet Tooth Netflix series will come out, we will be here with its review and will talk about it again. And by the looks of the trailer, it seems that we will have only good things to write about this show.

Sweet Tooth is based on DC comics which is really dark, but the show will adopt a friendly nature and will be for all age groups. Sweet Tooth trailer was really fun, warm and most of all, it was hopeful. It has some of the most beautiful locations and camerawork I have ever seen.

Sweet Tooth Plot

Netflix describes Sweet Tooth Series as a show as “Based on the beloved DC Comic, and Executive Produced by Susan Downey & Robert Downey Jr. Sweet Tooth is a post-apocalyptic fairytale about a hybrid deer-boy and a wandering loner who embark on an extraordinary adventure. All episodes of Sweet Tooth series will premiere on June 4, 2021, only on Netflix.”

Sweet Tooth Netflix Series

Sweet Tooth

Sweet Tooth Netflix series will follow the story of a hybrid kid Gus. Gus is a boy with deer-like features and lives in a forest with his father. The story will be set up after a semi-apocalyptic event called “The Great Crumble”. The event almost destroyed the earth and from the debris arises the age of Deer-Human hybrids. Our main character Gus, who will come to be known as in the future will be the main focus of the story.

Sweet Tooth Release Date

Netflix series is all set to release on June 4, 2021. The first season will feature a total of eight episodes with each episode being almost 40-50 minutes long. Sweet Tooth Netflix series will release exclusively on Netflix without any regional boundaries.

Even Netflix hasn’t teased anything about the second season. And considering the comic book series was a really short one, I don’t know if there will be a second season. We have to wait for the first season to drop to clear all the doubts. So, keep following Reelsrated.

The show will feature Christian Convery as Gus, Nonso Anozie as Tommy Jepperd, Stefania LaVie Owen as The Bear, Aliza Vellani as Rani Singh, Naledi Murray as Wendy, Adeel Akhtar as Aditya Singh, and Nixon Bingley as Gus again. Nixon will play a seven-year-old Gus and will only be in one episode. He will play Gus at the age of 4. Other casts include Seth Flynn, Will Forte, Dania Ramirez, and Christopher Sommers. The biggest star that will feature in the show is James Brolin. You can read the full cast list at IMDB.

Toa Fraser, Jim Mickle, and Robyn Grace are directing the show. Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey are the executive producers and Netflix is selling the show on their back. Jeff Grace and Russell Pollack are in charge of the music, and you all might know by now, that I always look forward to the music of a series.

What To Expect?

If Netflix can really adapt the comic series nicely, Netflix sireas can be one of the best shows of the year. I am getting my hopes really high as Robert Downey Jr. is producing it. Here’s to hoping that they will tone it down decently and won’t ruin the series.
