Spider-Man: No Way Home Release Date, Plot, and Cast: So, the Ramiverse is officially back in some sense at least now. And that means the chances of getting Toby Maguire as Spiderman in MCU is possible now. But, according to Alfred Molina MCU’s Otto Octavius is the same as of Spider-Man 2 released back in 2004. Now, this raises a lot of questions and it also gives birth to so many plot holes. Everyone who has watched Spider-Man 2, knows how good the Dr.Octopus arc really was. His descend to the dark side and then his sacrificing himself for the greater good was one of the best character arcs ever seen. And now their decision to bring him back as the same Otto Octavius that sacrificed himself really nullifies all of that.

Now, I am not trying to be negative in any way. Me getting angry or ranting serves no purpose whatsoever and adds nothing in the long run. But, this is something I really hate in superhero or any kind of franchise. The idea of playing with nostalgia and giving fan service so that their collection can increase. I really hope that MCU proves me wrong by really presenting Dr.Octopus in a new light and giving great justification for his return. But, as of now, it was one thing that I didn’t want them to do.
What does it mean?
See, there is a reason why Raimi’s trilogy is considered in such high regard. It is because everything in the trilogy had some kind of meaning behind it. And Dr. Octopus’s death signifies that in bold letters. His sacrifice meant something. His death was permanent. He knew he can’t go back to normal ways s sacrificed himself so that the world won’t have to face anything like that again. It is one thing to kill a character that is meant to be revived like Superman and Gandalf. But this is not that. He has been dead for 16 years and that is how people remember him. I know it is just a dumb movie and I shouldn’t be so angry about it. But, for people that have been loyal Marvel fans for so many years, it feels like a backstab to them.
It means that Otto Octavius’ death, which has meant so much to the fans for almost 20 years now means nothing now. MCU could have introduced Dr.Octopus in Spiderman: No Way Home without taking away the importance of the character’s sacrifice. Sam Raimi’s Octavius refused to die as a monster, so he gave up his life to save the world from his own monstrosity. Take the Star Wars sequel trilogy for example. No matter how bad the sequel trilogy was, at least they didn’t go ahead and revived Darth Wader in some way. They did that with Palpatine although, but you get my point.
Release Date
According to the reports, the shooting will be wrapped up by early July and will release by the end of the year. Spider-Man: No Way Home will release on 17 December 2021 in the USA. As of now, only 10 countries have greenlit the release of the movie, but it will increase in the coming days for sure. You can check the complete release date list on IMDB.
Spider-Man: No Way Home Plot
Spider-Man: No Way will continue right after from Spider-Man. We saw at the end of Far From that Spider-Man identity was revealed. And that is a big deal. Far From Home was really better than the underwhelming first part of the series and we hope that the third part follows that only. As of now nothing major about the story has been revealed. We will update you as soon as something is revealed.
Spider-Man Cast
All the major characters from the first two parts will return. Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man alongside Zendaya as MJ, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson. will also include Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Jamie Foxx as Electro, JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, and Alfred Molina as Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus. You can read the whole cast list at IMDB.
Jon Watts is directing the movie with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers in charge of writing the script. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing the movie.
What To Expect?
Spider-Man: No Way Home will be the first big release of MCU after Endgame and will mark a new era for them. So, the expectations are really high. It is also rumored that it will feature some type of Multiverse theory and with Dr. Strange in it, I can see it happening. So, if we are getting Dr. Octopus as a part of the multiverse or something, it might work. But, other than that, I don’t see it working. What possible reason can you give for his resurrection? It is baffling my mind. I hope Jon Watts can explain it in some good way and prove all my doubts useless.
As a Spider-Man fan, who has grown up after watching Spider-Man movies and reading its comics I have high hopes for the movie. And no matter what happens I will make sure to catch on the biggest screen possible.
