It was a dodgy ride but we are here now!!
So, Marvel What If…? finally released its 6th and final episode and I think it is the right time to rate every episode. I mean it was a very good concept when it was introduced. But Marvel surely wasn’t able to keep up with the promise of showing us something different. If I am being honest it was a complete hit and miss and it could have been so much better if they would have thought about it more. But let’s not dwell on it so much and see how the episodes really were and where they went wrong.
Rating Every Episode Of Marvel What If…?
Episode 1 – “What If… Captain Carter Was the First Avenger?”
Rating – 4/10
This was the first episode of Marvel What If…? And honestly, the first episode only described the What If..? series completely. It was a completely missed opportunity. It was obvious that they rushed into making this one because it could have been so much better than what it actually was.
In this episode, Peggy Carter becomes the first super soldier instead of Steve Rogers. And as I have said earlier, it was a bag of mixed opportunities altogether.
Episode 2 – “What If… T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?”
Rating – 5/10
This was an emotional episode for sure. One of the reasons for the overflowing of emotions was obviously Chadwick Boseman. But other than that also it was a really good episode until the very end. One of the main problems of What If..? has been the way they completely kill someone’s character. And this episode was the start of it. There were certain characters that were completely butchered and that is why, even after such an emotional episode, I wasn’t able to like it.

Episode 3 – “What If… the World Lost Its Mightiest Heroes?”
Rating – 6.5/10
This is one of the best episodes of the series, but that is not saying much, is it? From the get-go, I was interested in this one. The concept of every superhero dying without doing anything. And the world has to survive on its own will always be interesting. And they executed that pretty well except for some parts of the episode.
Episode 4- “What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?”
Rating – 10/10
I am convinced that someone else has written this particular episode. Because it was so beautiful and so tragic. I was on the verge of crying by the end of the episode. The story of this episode was so amazing and they executed it to perfection. The fact that Strange will try to do everything to save the woman he loves is acceptable. The fact that he is ready to go to any length is acceptable. And the fact that it won’t work no matter what and he will have to grieve alone is completely acceptable. And that is how you make one of the best episodes in TV history.

Episode 5 – “What If… Zombies?!”
Rating – 2/10
Yes, it was a cool concept and MCU is thinking of making a live-action movie. But, one thing that completely killed the episode for me was the character assassination of Scott Lang a.k.a Ant-Man. Scott lost everything in this episode. He lost his daughter, his love, and all the other family members. And instead of grieving, he was standing there doing nothing and cracking dad jokes. This episode was a loss for every Ant-Man fan and I am one of them
Episode 6 – “What If… Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark?”
Rating – 7/10
Well, it was a nice episode, until the ending. The ending of this episode was bad, but until then everything was really good. Showing Killmonger in such a way was pretty cool. But in the end, they made him Black Panther and that was not cool. But still a very fin episode and one that you should definitely watch.
