Sam Raimi’s first film was released almost ten years ago, so it’s not surprising that many in the film industry took the chance to honour one of our best pop auteurs. Raimi is a filmmaker whose work has become so recognisable over the years that it’s simple to take his distinctive aesthetic and artistic sensibility for granted. Hugely talented and always deserving of acclaim is Raimi. The TOC ranking of all of Raimi movies can be found below.
1. The Evil Dead (1981)

Going on a quick weekend getaway is the perfect way to let off steam. But when college student Ash Williams and his friends—his fiancée Linda, his sister Cheryl, their buddy Scott, and his girlfriend Shelly—arrive at a shoddy, weathered cabin in the dense Tennessee woods, nothing can prepare them for what’s to follow. Soon, weird discoveries in the basement and mysterious, unintelligible chants trigger a night of utter fear as hidden evil forces infiltrate our reality. Now, a parasitic force corrupts and mutates human flesh, and viscous, bright-red blood discolours the isolation of the surrounding mountains.
2. Spider- Man 2 (2004)

Peter Parker, who is currently a physics student at the University of Columbia, is on the edge of a nervous breakdown when he discovers the hard way that life has become more difficult. Mary Jane has given up on Peter two short years after Norman Osborn’s passing in Spider-Man (2002), and Aunt May is about to go into foreclosure. A bizarre scientific accident creates a new super-villain: the fixated, multi-tentacled mad scientist, Doc Ock. As Parker struggles to find his footing and decides whether to pursue a career as a crime fighter or not, Doc Ock emerges as the new bad guy. Peter must decide whether to stay true to his mission or avoid Mary Jane, the girl of his dreams, at this point when the world most needs him.
3. Evil Dead II (1987)

A half-crazed Ash battles to fend off the all-pervasive demonic influence of the cursed woodland after narrowly escaping the horrors of the legendary Necronomicon in The Evil Dead (1981). But evil never rests, and soon the late professor’s daughter Annie, her companion Ed, and two unaware townspeople will all be forced to start over after making a fatal error. Now, sanity is in jeopardy as the unholy pathways entice ancient dark spirits into this world, opening the door for the arrival of pure evil.
4. Drag Me To Hell (2009)

Bank loan officer Christine Brown is concerned about her situation in life. She is competing with a capable coworker for the post of assistant manager and is unsure about her relationship status. Christine declines to grant an extension on a loan to an elderly woman named Mrs. Ganush, who is currently facing foreclosure and the loss of her home, out of concern that her supervisor will think less of her if she displays weakness. She finds out that the old woman cursed her as payback, telling her that in a few days, she will be sent to hell. She tries to exorcise the demon with the aid of a psychic. But she encounters several obstacles.
5. A Simple Plan (1998)

Cast- Billy Bob Thornton, Bill Paxton, Bridget Fonda
Hank, Jacob, and Lou immediately come up with a plan to keep the money secure until the plane has been located by others and the situation has calmed down after discovering $4.4 million inside a crashed jet in a nature reserve. Lou, a buddy, and Hank’s brother, Jacob, do not act as they had intended. In the near future, Lou, who is perpetually in debt, will seek his share, while Jacob wants to rebuild their parents’ property. Slowly, the unequal partners’ once-trusty relationship breaks down, and plots are hatched. Additionally, mishaps start to occur, and Hank and his partners get up in extremely deep water when an FBI agent enters the area in search of a wrecked airliner.
6. Spider-Man (2002)

Cast- Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Willem Dafoe
Peter Parker, a shy, intelligent orphan who is frequently teased at school, finds it difficult to defend himself, much less earn Mary Jane Watson’s love, the gorgeous redhead he likes who lives next door. When a genetically modified spider bites Peter one day while Peter is visiting a Columbia University lab as part of a school field trip, an astounding metamorphosis happens instantly. Now that his body has undergone significant alterations, Peter has distinct spider skills and amazing novel superpowers, but he soon learns that great power also comes with great responsibility. The supervillain Green Goblin soon joins the scene and is more than prepared to test Peter’s moral fibre. He is an unstable, unusually strong individual.
7. Army of Darkness (1992)

Cast- Bruce Campbell, Ivan Raimi, Ted Raimi
Following the strange events of Evil Dead II (1987), Ash is suddenly transported to a different reality as the unfathomable tentacles of evil expand over time and space. Ash must now fight tooth and nail against the same old foe he faced in The Evil Dead (1981)since he is stranded in the distant Middle Ages, about 1300 AD. This time, though, things are much worse for him because the entire army of evil, not just one or two demons, is pursuing Ash and lusting after his soul. There is no going back, which is another factor and it is one of the best Raimi movies.
8. Darkman (1990)

Cast- Liam Neeson, Bruce Campbell, Larry Drake
Dr. Peyton Wilder suffers a brutal attack from thugs working for a crime leader, leaving him physically and psychologically traumatised, but he is saved thanks to an emergency treatment. After recovering, Wilder can only find comfort by going back to his scientific work creating synthetic skin and getting back at the crime leader. He adopts the character of Darkman, a phantom vigilante with changeable face features who can infiltrate and frighten the underworld.
9. The Quick and The Dead (1995)

Cast- Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio
Ellen, the reticent blonde gunfighter dubbed “The Lady,” rides into the arid town of Redemption to compete in the corrupt mayor Herod’s quick-draw competition. The Lady, who has the need for vengeance deeply ingrained in her, must outwit hazardous assassins from all across the region; some are want fame, others retribution, while others are after the money. However, there can only be one victor in this death match.
10. Spider-Man 3 (2007)

Cast- Toby Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Topher Grace
Just a few months have passed since Dr. Otto Octavius’ utopian dream in Spider-Man 2 (2004) and five years have passed since the event that changed Peter Parker and Mary Jane’s lives in Spider-Man (2002), and things are finally looking better for them. The Sandman, a formidable, shape-shifting mega-criminal with deep ties to Parker’s traumatic past, enters the picture, determined to terrorise the city, but with Harry Osborn, Peter’s former best friend, still harbouring resentment. And if that weren’t enough, Peter’s red and blue spider suit picks up a mysterious, parasitic black gunk that attaches itself to him, altering his personality, and a revived Green Goblin is out for blood.
11. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

Cast- Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Cumberbatch
Dr. Stephen Strange is plagued by strange images of a mystery teenage girl trapped in an alien dimension shortly after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and Eternals (2021). Yes, since Doctor Strange (2016), a lot has changed. But when Strange runs into the amazing girl from his visions, the thin lines separating our world from an unfathomable parallel one begin to blur. Soon, terrifying monsters working for evil forces cause havoc and combine perilous parallel realities.
12. The Gift (2015)

Cast- Joel Edgerton, Jason Bateman, Rebecca Hall
Simon, a sales executive, and his lovely wife Robyn, an interior designer, decide to move from Chicago to Simon’s homeland of Los Angeles in order to start over. Nevertheless, sometimes it’s more said than done to leave the past behind, and as a routine day of shopping results in a fortuitous encounter with Gordo, Simon’s old high school pal, things will soon take an unexpected turn. The couple’s tranquillity is now disturbed by an ongoing series of extravagant housewarming gifts against the backdrop of a delicate but unbreakable concealment.
13. Crimewave (1985)

Cast- Bruce Campbell, Ethan Coen, Louise Lasser
Ernest Trend employs Faron Crush and Arthur Coddish to kill his business partner Donald Odegard. After learning that he plans to sell their security company. The hit men succeed in their mission, but they go too far and endanger other people in the process. Victor Ajax, a security firm employee who was in the wrong location at the wrong time and charged with the killings, plans to clear his name with the help of Nancy, a new friend.
14. Oz the Great and Powerful (2013)

Cast- James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis
Oscar “Oz” Diggs, an ambitious and arrogant magician of a travelling circus, will finally land in the fabled Land of Oz. After becoming stranded with his hot air balloon during an intense storm. He will run into a lot of unusual creatures in the Emerald City’s streets, along with the nice citizens of Oz. They will all recognise him as the wizard. He was foretold to deliver the tranquil land from the Wicked Witch’s grasp. In order to show without a shadow of a doubt that he is in fact the Great Wizard of Oz, Oscar will eventually need to employ all of the tricks up his sleeve. Hence, including equal parts of imagination and sensory manipulation through theatrical illusion.
15. For Love Of The Game (1999)

Cast- Kevin Costner, Kelly Preston, Jena Malone
Billy Chapel, a 40-year-old baseball legend, is desperate to get back in touch with Jane Aubrey, his former flame. He discovers that the Detroit Tigers’ new owners want to trade him the morning. Before he’s scheduled to pitch the final game of the season. Also, he’s leaving that evening for a job in London. In-between innings, he remembers meeting Jane, their first date, happy times, miscommunication. Along with what might be a final break as he mulls over whether to accept the trade or quit the sport he loves. One Yankee batter after another is unable to reach first base while Vin Scully is making the announcements.
