After seven years, we are finally getting the sequel to a show that actually turned the tide for both web series and start-ups in India. Pitchers season 1 was released in 2015, and it got more viral than the word “Viral” itself.
You can’t deny that Pitchers revolutionize India’s start-ups and web series games. In 2015, there were only 4100 start-ups in India. There was literal buzz and curiosity regarding the topic.
Right now, there are 77,000 start-ups in our country. And you can say that TVF Pitchers Season 1 is responsible for that to a certain extent. The cinematography, acting, direction, and everything in season 1 were so good.
But the real reason the first season became so iconic was the youth’s fascination regarding the topic. And in the era without unlimited internet, Pitchers became the most famous web series.
Now, the real question is whether the second season will be just as entertaining, funny, and witty as the first season. Let us tell you all the good and bad aspects of the show so you can decide for yourself.
The Pitchers Season 2: Plot
The second season picks up seven years after the end of the first season. They are no longer in the minor league and are doing everything to raise money for their start-up. All four of our guys are still dreaming big, but they are scared that their money will be taken away anytime.
You won’t get all the intelligent and clever comebacks anymore. The second season is deadly serious about its business. So, if you are looking for anything similar to the first season, you won’t find it here. It is a slow burn.
The Pitchers Season 2: Highs
Serious and Mature Undertone
As mentioned earlier, the second season has a time-lapse of 7 years. The fun days of excitement are over. So, a serious and mature tone was necessary. The second season had to capture the evolution of Indian start-up culture.
And it looks like Arunabh has written this script while keeping that in mind only. You will feel that the stakes are high in every scene. And as mentioned earlier, that was necessary.
Cast
The cast once again did a splendid job of capturing every emotion. Just like the first season, the second season’s cast did a fantastic job. All the originals showed us why they were loved so much.
New faces like Sikander Kher did a fine job as well. We won’t tell you whether Jeetu comes at the end of a show or not. You might have to watch the show yourself to find that out.

The Pitcher Season 2: Lows
Dialogues
One of the main reason for the success of season 1 were the dialogues that stayed with us throughout. The second season’s dialogues do not have that depth of iconism in them. There are some excellent dialogues, but they won’t stay with you for a long time.
For a Selected Audience
Season 1 connected with every fan in India, no matter their background or salary. But it looks like the second season will connect more with the audience that has gone through the thick and thin of the start-ups.
Biswapati Sarkar
It really looks like TVF is missing Biswapati Sarkar. He was the writer of the first season of Pitchers. His writing was crisp and funny, and filled with humor. And the second season lacked that convincingly.
TVF Pitchers Season 2: Is It Worth It?
Even though the second season is not as entertaining as the first season, it is an honest and praiseworthy effort from the current TVF team. It functions on a completely different dimension from the first season.
So, is it worth it? Definitely Yes! It is a good one-time watch; even if it is not your cup of tea, watch it for the legacy of the first season.
