The second trailer of Pacific Rim The Black: The Black was released a few days ago and fans are losing their minds. Pacific Rim: Black is the anime version of the Pacific Rim series that will be set up in the same world. The series was announced back in 2018 after the release of Pacific Rim: Uprising. Both movies of the Pacific Rim series have been blockbusters. The first part made almost 400 million dollars and the second part was just shy of reaching those numbers. So, it was obvious for the makers to grab that opportunity. People absolutely loved and adored the first movie, the second part was a bit of a letdown. Completely visible by the collection. We just hope that the anime also turns out to be real good.
The first teaser of the series was released 3 weeks ago and the trailer followed. Netflix has produced some decent anime in the past like Castlevania, Great Pretender, Baki, Dorehedoro, Beastars, Violet Evergarden, and some more. We just hope Pacific Rim The Black lands in that category too. By the looks of the Netflix Trailer, Pacific Rim: The Black looked like the usual sci-fi trope that is bound to succeed. The Robots vs Monster fight, which is the signature Pacific Rim The Black, will be shown a lot.
Pacific Rim Anime Official Trailer
The trailer gave us the first look at the anime. I liked the trailer, there was lots of cool stuff in there. It was just the animation style that I am worried about. It felt really generic and lazy. Their concept of combining both Japanese and American tropes is amazing if just the animation style was kind of like Japanese too. You know, what stopped Castlevania from being a masterpiece? It was the animation. Netflix has to work hard on its animation. At least make it feel like animation, not just dumb low budgeted CGI for a small movie. I know that this animation style saves time, money, and lots of other things. But show a few efforts at least. This anime has everything. The plot is looking strong, already has a big name, I am just scared for the animation to not ruin everything.
Pacific Rim Anime Netflix Plot
According to Netflix official website “In a world where Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, danger in the form of scary monsters lurk in every corner.
Pacific Rim anime will feature the story of two brothers, Taylor and Hayley. After the takeover of Australia by Kaiju, both of them will go on a journey to find their parents. They will find a Jaegar in the way that they will use to fight any Kaiju in their way. But will their journey be that easy? There will be lots and lots of danger in their way. They will face so many death situations that it will be hard to keep track. The trailer also focused a little bit on their past life, so we might also see that in the trailer. And is the story as simple as it seems? Or is there a big mystery around them? We will get all the answers once the show is out.
Release Date

Pacific Rim The Black is just around the corner. The show is all set to release on March 4, 2021. The first season will consist of seven episodes each being almost 20 minutes long. The show will be available on Netflix without any regional restrictions. All the episodes will be available on 4th March only. So, you will be able to enjoy the show from any part of the world. There has not been a concrete announcement regarding the second season. But, if we listen to the rumors, the second season is definitely in the plan. It just looks like Netflix is planning to see the reviews and then make any sort of announcement.
Cast
Yui Shimodaya will voice the character of Hayley Travis, Yūsuke Kobayashi will voice Taylor Travis and Iku Minase will do the voiceover of Loa.
As for the English version, Gideon Adlon(Blockers) will voice Hayley Travis, Callum Worthy(Blackburn, Corporate Animals) will voice the character of Taylor Travis, and Erica Lindbeck( Magi: The Kingdom of Magic, Sword Art Online, Seven Deadly Sins, Hunter × Hunter)will do the voiceover for Loa.
Greg Johnson and Craig Kyle will serve as the writer of the series. Ken Duer, Craig Kyle, Eric S. Rollman, and Greg Johnson are producing the series.
I have really high hopes for Pacific Rim The Black. The second film of the franchise felt forced and dull without the vision of Del Toros. Pacific Rim anime also suffers from the same fate. Del Toros isn’t there to supervise the series. Still, the series is looking promising and it can be amazing. The only thing to worry about right now is the animation, that I have mentioned before. Other than that I am pretty hyped up about the series.
