As far as the psychological thriller goes, this is the best you will ever see. Donnie Darko is a masterpiece in terms of Psychological Thrillers. One of the best psychological thriller movies of all time. The movie made me fall in love with Jake Gyllenhall.

I think Donnie Darko simply does not fall into one genre only. It has a bit of everything, eerie horror, psychological thriller, sci-fi, and awkward comedy. But it is genuinely a delightful watch, a modern example of a Nonsense movie that has it all.

Before watching this movie, read the history of the Vietnam War once, and you will realize why this movie is so good. The movie explores the topic of mental instability with such elegance that even tragedy looks beautiful.

This movie has so many parallels that it becomes hard to keep track sometimes. But if you watch it with complete dedication, you will be bewildered. A true masterpiece in work.

I went in completely blind to watch this movie and am glad I did that. Many people will say this movie lacks emotional depth, but they are wrong. Midsommar has everything that makes it one of the top horror movies.

Midsommar is not your typical horror movie. There are lots of jumpscares and cheap use of blood. But it is unsettling. Florence Pugh carried the movies on her back and made them work. That soundtrack might be one of the scariest things I have ever heard.

Mulholland Drive

Mulholland Drive is a haunting and unsettling psychological thriller that explores the complexities of the human psyche through its dreamlike imagery and nonlinear storytelling. David Lynch’s direction is masterful, creating a sense of unease and uncertainty that keeps the viewer on edge throughout the film.

The performances by Naomi Watts and Laura Harring are exceptional, capturing the psychological turmoil of their characters as they delve deeper into the mystery of Rita’s identity.

M

This is my favorite movie showcasing serial killers, which came out in 1931. This movie still holds firmly. Certain movies are made for Black and white, and ‘M’ is definitely one of them. What a classic!!

The way that this movie is shot is fantastic. So many scenes revealed precisely what the director wanted to convey. And very few movies can turn a monster into a sympathetic person; M does that subtly and beautifully.

What an underrated movie this is. This is definitely at the top of the list regarding creepy thrillers. I don’t know why people don’t rate this movie because it is absolutely amazing. It is so gripping and creepy that you will love it.

People talk about movies like IT, but that is nothing compared to Gerald’s Game because this movie is next level. The flashback scenes will make you think about the whole scenario of the movie, and you will love it. I am still not over the hand scene, which blew my mind.

The Skin I Live In

It is an odd movie. And it should not have made this list. But ‘The Skin I Live In’ is somehow one of my favorite thrillers of all time. It is twisted, dark, uncomfortable, and still watchable.

The movie also touches on some dark social issues in our society, and the reveal at the end still baffles my mind. You will be shocked at how a standard revenge tale can be this dark and ugly.

Let’s keep aside all the disturbing, gruesome horror related to this movie and appreciate it as a form of art and how brilliant this is. One of the best psychological thrillers of all time, and it is not even close.

You get the flavor of horror, thriller, and psychological aspects, and every one of those factors is near perfect in this movie. I won’t say anything else, as you owe it to yourself to watch and appreciate this art.

We just talked about revenge being dark and ugly, well here is another movie of the same category. The ultimate tale of revenge where it gets really ugly really fast. It moves like a bullet train, and you have to keep up.

The ending might seem dull compared to the whole movie, but it is still worth it. A revenge tale this ugly is the beauty of this movie. The action and the direction here are just the cherry on top.

Nightcrawler

This is the best version of Jake Gyllenhaal we have got on the screen ever. When I watched Nightcrawler for the first time, I couldn’t stop thinking about it for some reason. The creepy nature of Jake’s character will make you uncomfortable throughout the movie.

This kind of uneasy movie will make you uncomfortable every 10 minutes, which was the movie’s intention. This is still one of the Best Suspense Movies on Netflix that you can watch.
