Maid TV series is based on Stephanie Land’s best-selling memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive. It follows Alex as she struggles with poverty, homelessness, and bureaucracy.

In the trailer, Alex’s life consists of long days spent polishing houses from top to bottom, relying on aid programmes such as S.N.A.P. to make ends meet and survive.

At first glance, it looks like that the main character Alex (Margaret Qualley) is jealous of what she sees the whole day. She wants to break free from poverty but she isn’t getting any way out of it. She narrates the life of some rich woman to Sean (Nick Robinson) and the way she narrates promises that this is going to be one of the best acting performances from 26-year-old Margaret Qualley.

The last famous movie in which she acted was ‘Once upon a time in Hollywood’. She played the character of Pussycat in it and if we compare both the characters here, poverty seems to be the only affinity between the characters.
