Dexter Returns is your normal friendly Neighbor now?
So, the latest trailer of Dexter Returns introduced us to the new alias of Dexter. Yes, our beloved psycho-killer is back with, but with another name. The show makers are teasing us with these small details to increase the excitement level. And I guess it is working. This time they released another teaser of the show, which let us know the name of our protagonist. Dexter Morgan is gone and now he is Jim Lindsay and he looks friendly. Of course, that is all an act, but it sure gives a new direction to the show.
Dexter Returns
The new teaser was just to show us the new alias of Dexter and how he has changed. But he is still showing signs of a killer when he glanced at some knives. So, the animal inside him is still alive. He just knows how to use it more properly now.
Dexter Revival Plot
The ninth season will continue right from where season 8 ended. Meaning it will feature Dexter hiding in the woods. But it is not like the time hasn’t passed in the Dexter timeline. It will serve as a second finale to right the original ending that was bad.
I am happy that we are getting another season of Dexter because I was not satisfied with how the last season ended. The ending wasn’t that bad, but it didn’t felt like an ending. There was nothing “finalizing” about the finale. He went into hiding and that was it. It felt like a deliberate setup to continue the story, later on, maybe a movie was in plans. But, now we are getting it and I can’t be more excited about it.
Dexter Revival Release Date
The show will come out in 2021 only. Maybe they will announce it with the official trailer release. The ninth season will consist of 10 episodes, making it shorter than all the other seasons. It will probably have weekly releases like all the other seasons.
Dexter Revival Cast
Dexter Revival will feature Julia Jones (The Mandalorian), Alano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe), Jamie Chung (Lovecraft Country), Oscar Wahlberg (NOS4A2), Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird), and Michael Cyril Creighton.
Clyde Phillips is overseeing the story of the ninth season while Marcos Siega is directing it. Both of them will also produce the series alongside Michael C. Hall.
Dexter Revival: What To Expect?
So, Dexter Revival will be darker than the original version of it. If I am being honest I am in love with that idea. Jamie Chung, who is a new addition to the series talked about it in an interview. She stated ” The original series happened over 10 years ago, so there’s certainly a different vibe of the way the actual show is shot in terms of the aesthetic. I do think it’s a little darker.”
So, we might see a more cold-blooded psycho serial killer that will haunt you for real. She also stated that there will be lots of new fresh faces in the show. I don’t know what can be possibly darker than the Dexter we got. But I want it more than anything. It has been 10 years and now I can’t wait for it to come.
