Netflix is coming out with all their big guns. We have seen lots and lots of star-studded shows and movies on Netflix as of now. Will Smith starred Amend: The Fight for America came out just now and now another big star is coming on Netflix. Concrete Cowboy Official Trailer is one of the latest Movies on Netflix starring Idris Alba and it is looking fantastic. The official trailer for the upcoming Netflix drama movie was released a few days ago and it looks really promising. The only problem is that the trailer might serve as a spoiler for anyone with narrative beats. I seriously think that there is no reason to make a trailer 2-3 minutes long when your movie has such a basic premise.

Concrete Cowboy Official Trailer is based on the novel Ghetto Cowboy’ by G.Neri. The novel was a bestseller and fans loved the novel. The movie will be a father-son drama. But it will be different from what we usually see in these kinds of movies. It is a good thing that Netflix is providing us with stories of different subcultures, rather than typical stories we are used to. They have all my respect for it. There was a time when the movies only used to scratch the outer surface of US culture. I am glad that we are past that point now. And filmmakers are ready to take more and more risks with their movies.
Concrete Cowboy Plot
According to official synopsis by Netflix “While spending the summer in North Philadelphia, a troubled teen (Caleb McLaughlin) is caught between a life of crime and his estranged father’s (Idris Elba) vibrant urban-cowboy subculture. Based on the novel ‘Ghetto Cowboy’ by G.Neri, Concrete Cowboy is directed by Ricky Staub and co-stars Jharrel Jerome, Byron Bowers, Lorraine Toussaint, and Clifford “Method Man” Smith.”
It is a simple story of father and son and their bond. After Cole’s mom leave him, he has to go and live with his dad. He has never met his dad before. For his whole life, Cole thinks that all the Concrete Cowboy Official Trailer are white and lives in the outer city. Consider his shock when he will find that his black dad has a horse and lives in the inner city. The bond between Cole and the horse increases and when the city threatens to shut down all the stables and take away his horse, he decides to fight back. Alongside his dad, he will ride the whole town and will fight back against it.
It will not be a simple father-son drama, but will also focus on social issues like racism and child-crime. Cole is a troubled child and is into lots of crimes. The way his character will transform throughout the movie will be a sight to see. If his character development doesn’t do justice to his character, I will be really disappointed.
Concrete Cowboy Release Date
The movie is all set to release on April 2, 2021, on Netflix. The movie is 1 hour 51 minutes long. It will be released on Netflix without any regional boundaries, so you can enjoy it from any part of the world. Netflix is releasing lots and lots of big-name series and movies in April and Concrete Cowboy might be the start of that. I am pretty excited about the movie and I hope they will do justice with the novel.

The movie will star Idris Alba as Harp, Lorraine Toussaint as Nessie, Jharrel Jerome as Smush, and Caleb McLaughlin as Cole. Other cast members are Method Man as Leroy, Byron Bowers as Rome, and Liz Priestley as Amahle. You can read the full cast list on Netflix or Imdb official site. On the paper, the cast is looking really solid, with every actor having at least one big movie to their name. Half of the actors in this movie excel in a drama movie, so it is their specialty. The main focus will be on Caleb for sure. He has to do justice with the character of Cole, otherwise, the movie can really go badly. Idris Alba has cemented himself as one of the best actors right now, so automatically the pressure is on. I am really excited to see how the cast will perform.
The movie is being directed by Ricky Staub and he is also writing the screenplay alongside Dan Walser. Jeniffer Corey alongside Idris Alba, Tegan Jones, Lee Daniels, and Sam Mercer is producing the film. Kevin Matley is in charge of the composition of the music. And it is another thing that I am really excited about. The music in the trailer really stole my heart and I am excited to see what will get in the movie.
Overall, the movie is looking quite promising. The movie will definitely be good, I know that because I have watched a 3-minutes version of it in the trailer. Honestly, if you want to enjoy the movie to its fullest, you should avoid the trailer. Not just the basic plot, it might reveal the whole essence of the movie. If you have watched the trailer, you might not have anything to be surprised about in the movie. Just watch the movie when it will come out and I am sure you will love it.
