The popularisation of body horror is frequently linked to director David Cronenberg. However, there is enough body horror in the world to go around. a subgenre of the horror genre that can be hilarious, disturbing, serious, or even insightful, but most essential, it must be disgustingly repulsive. Here is a list of some body horror movies. However, David Cronenberg, a master of the body horror movies, did not direct them.
1. May (2002)

Misfit teenager May’s lazy eye caused her to have a challenging upbringing. May’s ingrained shyness is still a problem, despite the fact that contact lenses have assisted her as a young adult. May’s eccentric behaviours appeal to Adam, a young man who is fixation on mangled automobiles. May, however, eventually pushes him away due to her odd behaviour, leaving her vulnerable to Polly, a coworker, who wants to approach her. May’s unstable emotions become aggressive when Polly dumps her as well.

3. Suspiria (2018)

Susie Bannion, a sheltered Mennonite and ambitious dancer, enrols at the esteemed Helena Markos Dance Academy shortly after a troublesome student mysteriously vanishes against the backdrop of intense political instability in a perennially dismal 1977 Berlin. Susie does exceedingly well during the audition in the hopes of being accepted into Madame Blanc’s all-female dancing company. However, rumours about the unholy trinity of witch-mothers—Mater Suspiriorum, Mater Tenebrarum, and Mater Lachrymarum—threaten to cast a shadow on her happy accomplishment. Soon after, yet another ballet dancer vanishes.
4. Event Horizon (1997)

Director- Paul W. S. Anderson
A team is sent to study the Event Horizon after the spaceship, which had previously disappeared years before, emerges unexpectedly. The crew of the Lewis and Clark, under the command of Capt. Miller, set out to investigate the ostensibly abandoned ship, accompanied by William Weir, the man who created the Event Horizon. The horror movies that befell the Event Horizon’s previous excursion are still present, albeit it soon becomes clear that something terrible dwells in its corridors.
5. The Howling (1981)

Eddie Quist, a serial predator who targets the homeless, exclusively interacts with Karen White, a journalist. Police killed Eddie, but Karen’s role in arresting him was very traumatic, and she is unable to recall his face. When she learns where he is from, she and her husband, Bill Neill, decide to take a holiday there. She is unaware that Eddie is a member of a pack of werewolves that prefers to maintain a low profile and does not want any interviews. She now has a battle for her soul as well as her survival.
6. Audition (1999)

In Tokyo, widower Shigeharu Aoyama raises his son Shigehiko Aoyama by himself while grieving the loss of his wife. Shigeharu meets his friend Yasuhisa Yoshikawa, a film producer, and explains his plan seven years later when the teenage Shigehiko questions why his middle-aged father does not remarry. Yasuhisa decides to stage a phoney audition to find the leading lady for the made-up movie because Shigeharu finds it difficult to approach eligible ladies for a date. Shigeharu becomes fixated on the stunning Asami Yamazaki after receiving numerous candidate portfolios. Shigeharu calls Asami for a date and he falls in love with her in spite of Yasuhisa’s wise counsel.
7. Fiend Without A Face (1958)

Director- Arthur Crabtree
An American military facility in Canada is constructing a nuclear-powered missile control system while contending with opposition from residents of the surrounding town. Major Jeff Cummings is in charge of the investigation when four residents, including the mayor, are assassinated. When the coroner investigates one of the bodies, he discovers that the monster was a mental vampire since the brain and spinal cord had been removed. He seeks out retired scientist Prof. R. E. Walgate, who lives in the city, and tells him the terrifying news.
8. Starry Eyes (2014)

Sarah, a sweet struggling actress, is stuck serving customers at a trashy fast-food joint despite her desperation to succeed in the glamorous Hollywood film industry. Sarah, a ruthlessly ambitious woman who is still waiting for her big break, decides to take a risk on the horror movies “The Silver Scream,” only to discover firsthand that fantasies and reality are two very different things. However, the stone-faced casting director notices Sarah’s frantic attempts to move on from the unsuccessful audition and chooses to give her another chance. Sarah has a history of self-harm. Now, in order to complete the deal and propel herself into the spotlight, Sarah must be prepared to make any sacrifices necessary to give up her former self in the service of art.
9. The Hands Of Orlac (1924)

A well-known pianist is Orlac. He suffers severe injuries in a significant train accident one day. His wife pleads with the doctors to save both of his hands because he might lose them both. In the end, they succeed in replacing his hands with those of another decedent. After recovering, Orlac finds that his new hands are badly flawed; it’s as if they have a mind of their own. Orlac doesn’t realise that they belonged to a murderer who was dangerous, though.
