7. Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace

Created By- Richard Ayoade, Matthew Holness
Cast- Matthew Holness, Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade
In the 1980s, the revolutionary television series Darkplace, which was set in a hospital and delved into the author’s imagination, was written, produced, directed, and starred in by horror author Garth Marenghi. In the contemporary interviews that bookend and interrupt the episodes, Marenghi and his publicist/co-star Dean Learner, at least, make that allegation. The show is shockingly misogynistic, cheesy, cheap, and full of story flaws. Comedian Matthew Holness created the persona of Garth Marenghi, which he used to win a Perrier award at the 2001 Edinburgh festival.

As Linda chooses to follow her heart to increasingly wild and outrageous locations, and Fanny opts for a steady life, their friendship is put to the test.
