The year 2022 has seen a lot of brand-new instalments in established film franchises. Recently, series have advanced thanks to movies like The Batman and Scream, while others have been reinvigorated by Jurassic World: Dominion and Thor: Love and Thunder. With so many new sequels and reboots hitting the big and small screens, Ranker users can vote on movies in a variety of categories, and voters have already expressed their views.
1. Scream

A cute teenage girl is alone at home when the phone rings, just like in the original movie from 25 years ago. A man desires to engage her in a game. Tara is compelled to comply because her best friend is in danger of being killed. She barely makes it through the intruder’s stabbing with a ghost face mask. Sam, who is five years Tara’s senior and left the family at age 18 owing to mental health issues, Tara’s high school pals, and Sam’s boyfriend all pay her visits in the hospital.
Later, a man annoys his buddies in a bar and is then attacked by Ghostface outside in the parking lot. He calls Sam from the hospital, and he subsequently tries to attack her without success. Later, she tells her sister about family secrets. Sam seeks assistance from one of the first victims, Dewey. Gale Weathers and Sidney Prescott, two more of the initial victims, are forewarned of Ghostface’s impending return.
2. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Madness

Dr. Stephen Strange is plagued by strange images of a mystery teenage girl trapped in an alien dimension shortly after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and Eternals (2021). Yes, since Doctor Strange, a lot has changed (2016). But when Strange runs into the amazing girl from his visions, the thin lines separating our world from an unfathomable parallel one begin to blur. Soon, terrifying monsters working for evil forces cause havoc and combine perilous parallel realities.
3. Top Gun: Maverick
Director- Joseph Kosinski
Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, one of the Navy’s greatest aviators for more than 30 years, is now where he belongs, pushing the limits as a daring test pilot and avoiding the promotion that would have grounded him. Maverick must face his darkest fears and the demons of his past while preparing a detachment of graduates for a special mission. The mission’s culmination requires the greatest sacrifice from those who choose to fly it.
4. The Batman
Director- Matt Reeves
After two years of his never-ending quest to purge Gotham City of crime and political corruption, recluse billionaire vigilante Bruce Wayne realises that crime still permeates the huge city. After the mayor is slain by the Riddler, a crazed assassin who targets high-profile, corrupt targets, Bruce teams up with Commissioner Gordon to piece together the evidence and catch the elusive culprit who is fascinated with the Wayne family and Bruce himself. No one is safe from harm as Gotham’s self-declared dark knight struggles to find his footing in a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game involving cryptic allies and lethal opponents.
5. Downtown Abbey: A New Era

The blockbuster film Downton Abbey: A New Era comes from Downton Abbey’s award-winning creator Julian Fellowes. The Crawley family embarks on a magnificent tour to the South of France to solve the mystery of the dowager countess’s recently inherited villa in the highly awaited return of the global sensation to the big screen, which reunites the beloved cast.
6. Jackass Forever
Director- Jeff Tremaine
The original Jackass group returns for another round of hilarious, crazily bizarre, and frequently hazardous displays of humour with a little assistance from some interesting new cast, celebrating the joy of being back together with your best friends and a well performed shot to the dingdong. In Jackass Forever, Johnny and the crew push the limits even further.
7. Lightyear
Director- Angus MacLane
Buzz Lightyear, a legendary space ranger, sets off on an interplanetary journey with Izzy, Mo, Darby, and his robot friend, Sox, as well as other eager recruits. This mismatched team must learn to cooperate with one another as they take on their most challenging assignment yet in order to defeat the wicked Zurg and his persistent robot army.
8. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

1932. Since the events of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the wicked wizard Gellert Grindelwald and his inner circle of devoted followers have been plotting their next move in their quest for total control over the Muggles and the entire Wizarding World (2018). As a result, in the absence of youthful Professor Albus Dumbledore, Newt Scamander leads a valiant team of wizards on a perilous quest to defeat Grindelwald’s plot to grab power. It’s a race against time, though.
9. Hollywood Stargirl
Director- Julia Hart
In the opening scene of “Hollywood Stargirl,” Susan “Stargirl” Caraway and her mother Ana go to Los Angeles. They talk during the transfer, and Stargirl says she wishes she had a more permanent home. As a frequent mover due to her employment as a movie costume designer, Ana explains to Stargirl that this is the only way she is able to care for her pets. They would have to spend a full year in one location, but Ana reassures Stargirl that she could finish her senior year in Los Angeles. The landlady, Daphne, who lives just across the street with her husband and their two sons, Terrell and Evan, is introduced to them as they settle into their California apartment.
Stargirl is ecstatic about her life in a new area as Daphne chats with Ana and reveals that her sons are making a movie. Stargirl comes up with new activities and pastimes to keep herself occupied as Ana works long hours and is unable to spend time with her kid.
10. The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild
Director- John C. Donkin
The adventure-seeking possum brothers Crash and Eddie set out to find a haven of their own, desperate for some apart from their older sister Ellie, but soon discovered themselves stranded in a vast underground cave. They are saved by the one-eyed, thrill-seeking, dinosaur-hunting weasel Buck Wild, and must now fight the rambunctious dinosaurs that live in the Lost World together.
