Best New Netflix Movies, Another week with new titles on Netflix. This week Netflix was ruled by Japanese movies with six new Japanese titles in their catalog. There were some bangers in there and some felt dud. So, let’s take a look at some of the best new Netflix movies this week so that you can choose what to watch. So, without further ado, let’s get on with New on Netflix Movies this week.
Best New Netflix Movies

Fatherhood
Japanese movies might have ruled Netflix this week, but let’s take a look at the movie that really moved me. Fatherhood saw Kevin Hart in a serious role. It was a sensitive role that we never expected Kevin Hart to pull off. but he somehow did. The story focuses on a single dad, who raises his daughter alone after the death of his wife, just one day after her birth. The movie also stars Melody Hurd, Alfre Woodward, Lil Rel Howery, DeWanda Wise, and Paul Reiser. And all of them have done an amazing job. It was nice to see Kevin Hart in this kind of role after we have seen him joking his entire career. You should definitely give this one a watch alongside your family. As it is definitely the Best new Netflix movie this week.
A Family
The first Japanese entry on the list. A Family might deceive you with its first look. What might appear as a failing romantic movie, This New On Netflix is actually a Crime Drama. You can also say that it is kind of inspired by Godfather with the family value it holds. It is a mobster drama movie.
The movie focuses on Kenji Yamamoto who is really lost after the death of his father. At the same time, he got invited into a crime syndicate family by a Yakuza boss Hiroshi Shibasaki. Kenji and Hiroshi Shibasaki form a father-son kind of relationship. And as Kenji grows up he makes his own family. The movie features an unusual drama that I didn’t expect from this movie. It was an emotional watch for sure. It doesn’t involve as much violence as I was expecting but that is because of the scenario of the movie. But if you are a crime drama fan, A Family is New on Netflix Movies this week for you.
Jagame Thandhiram
The first Indian film on the list. I don’t understand the amount of praise this movie is getting. It is definitely a good movie, but not as good as the critics are saying. So, while watching it, don’t get your hopes high unnecessarily. But it is still a good watch. The problem with Jagame Thandhiram is that both halves of the movie feel completely different.
Jagame Thandhiram follows a life of a small gangster Suruli played by Dhanush. He gets hired by a London Gangster to kill his rival. But leads to him fighting his own battles of considering what is good and what is evil. He grows a conscience and what seems like a regular hunt becomes much more. The movie packs lots of good comedy punches and has pretty good action. So, if you are looking for an all-around movie that will entertain you Jagame Thandiram is one of the best Netflix movies this week in that area.
Rurouni Kenshin: The Final
Our second Japanese entry on the list. There have been lots of anime live-action adaptations over the years. But very few of them are as good as Rurouni Kenshin: The Final. I still have mixed feelings about this movie, but it is still a good watch. Rurouni Kenshin: The Final is a visual masterpiece of a movie. The action scenes are beautifully choreographed, especially the fighting scenes. And the best part was that there were no CGI effects there.
The movie revolves around Kenshin, who has a very dark past buried deep inside. But he has to face it once more when his late first wife’s brother appears and decides to take revenge on Kenshin. The only problem was that I had read the manga before and didn’t help myself comparing it with that. But if you haven’t read the manga you will absolutely love this movie. Out of all the movies in this list, this might be the best new Netflix movie this week.
