Best Movies To Watch On Netflix In July 2021

Leave Netflix In July 2021

The Invitation

Leaving – July 07, 2021

You have to watch it right now, as this movie will leave in two days. It is one of my favorite psychological horror movies. The best part about this movie is how it completely changes its tone in the middle of the movie. It starts as a psychological thriller and turns into a full-fledged horror before you even realize it. And I absolutely love this transition. There were some unrealistic things in the movie, but you can easily ignore those. So, watch it before it leaves Netflix.

Spotlight

Leaving – July 30, 2021

Spotlight won the Oscars for best movie in 2015. And even though the importance of the award has been reduced in the past few years, this was well deserved. I had the opportunity to watch this movie in the cinema hall and I am grateful for that. The silence in my theater at the end of the movie was deafening. I didn’t move from my seat for good 5 minutes even after the movie was over. So, do yourself a favor and watch it before it gets taken down. Because Spotlight is a masterpiece that won’t be repeated ever.

A Clockwork Orange

Leaving – July 31, 2021

This might be the most controversial mainstream movie of the past century. I am surprised that Netflix was able to keep it for so long. And it is a tough watch. Stanley Kubrick is the director and writer of this movie and he has created something really weird and unique here. Personally, I enjoyed the aesthetics of A Clockwork Orange. The film is an interesting examination of morality. And the best part about this movie that people really forgets is the soundtrack of the movie. The soundtrack added an eery sense of class to the sickening proceedings. Yes, the movie is controversial in so many parts and won’t be allowed to release in today’s time. But, you have to watch it for that sense only. Because it is really a one-of-a-kind movie.

Friends With Benefits

Leaving – July 31, 2021

Not every movie on this list will be a classic or a masterpiece. Friends With Benefits is just a fun watch. Watch it and have a good time by yourself. The movie is pretty funny and that is because of some great comic banter between the two lead characters. Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake are also great. And their chemistry really made this movie work. Friends With Benefits was added to Netflix in April 2021 only. So, it is a surprise that it is leaving Netflix this soon. But, you still have some days before it completely leaves Netflix. So, watch it before that and have a good time.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Leaving – July 31, 2021

I am including this movie because the third part just came out and it is brilliant. If you are a lifelong G.I.Joe fan you will find this movie dumb in various parts. But, as a casual fan, it was entertaining. Yes, it had so many over-the-top scenes and Channing Tatum wasn’t helping it. But, once again, the origin story was somewhat accurate with the Snake Eyes/Stormshadow/Hard Master storyline. So, yes it is a mixed bag, but you can watch it for the third part. Because it is pretty fantastic.

Hook

Leaving – July 31, 2021

Here is an all-time classic. Speilberg was at his all-time best in terms of storytelling during this era. I have no idea how it was badly received back in the day. It is the perfect movie where you can sit back and chill out. If you were born during this era, Hook will take you back to that carefree world where you were just supposed to sit back, drink your milk and enjoy this masterpiece. I don’t know how it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. They just don’t make the kid’s movies this good nowadays.
