3. Tomo-Chan is a Girl
Another feel-good show that came out in the winter of 2023. The story revolves around Tom Boy Tomo, who wants her best friend to look at her like a woman. But Junichiro is dumb and always thinks of her as a pal.
This anime has a lot of similarities to Nozaki-Kun, one of the best Rom-Com out there. Tomo-Chan will make you laugh, the characters are lovable, and the comedy is actually funny. Tomo-Chan might be the best rom-com of the year.
4. Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible
This amazing romantic anime focuses on a loner and a popular girl who helps him escape his shell. The story might have been overplayed now, but this jump’s adaptation is something else.
Studio Pine Jams’ character design is so good, and the plot revolving around the main lead is hilarious. It is another amazing romantic anime that remains cute and never touches the cheesy line.
5. The Fire Hunter
We might have listed romantic anime above, but the real winners of Winter 2023 have been the fantasy fan. We could have filled the entire list with Fantasy shows. Original fantasy shows that are not Isekai.
The Fire Hunter is one of them. The Fire Hunter is one of my favorite anime series. It can be because of the rooted story that will instantly connect with you. The animation looks like a book that has come to life. Or the soulful background music.

Giant Beasts Of Ars is a blast from one fantasy anime to another. It is set in a similar world as Attack Of Titans before 1000 twists changed that world. Giant Beasts of Ars is placed in a world where humanity has to be behind a wall to be safe from humanoid monstrosities.
This anime includes divine powers and includes all the other fantasy anime tropes like politics, wars, empires, and some amazing action scenes. And the best part of the anime is the world-building, which is just beautiful.
7. Revenger
Make sure to distinguish this from Tokyo Revenger because that anime is bad. The historical drama is my favorite genre in anime, and Revenger is just that. The series is based on Rizo Kurima, loyal to his kingdom.
But when the kingdom betrays him, he joins a group of revengers to take revenge on the empire. And from then on, it is just action, murder, blood, lust, backstabbing, and everything you expect in a good anime series.
8. High Card
High Card is an original anime made by the creator of Kakegurui’s Homura Kawamoto. You can expect all the crazy things from this anime as well. It just involves magic that you did not have in Kakegurui.
This anime is amazingly twisted and has that modern animation that new generations like. This fantasy world is dark and oozes entertainment from every scene. A must-watch for sure and one of the best anime of winter 2023.
9. Onnichan Wa Oshimai
One of the most wholesome anime I have watched in a long time. I have not seen this gorgeous and fun anime in a very long time. It is unique, it is fun, the music is amazing, and what else do you want?
The anime revolves around a 20-year-old shut-in girl whose elder sister turns her into a middle age schoolgirl to cure her depression. You have to bear the anime shit logic to enjoy this one.
10. Ippon Again
This anime is rough around the edges regarding animation and production. But I had a blast while watching this anime. I binged it completely in a single day. This anime has some of the most natural dialogues you will ever see.
The story is based on a high-school judo club, and sports anime are the best. It is not your typical shounen sports anime but has a different vibe. One of the best anime of winter 2023 and a must-watch.
