The Harry Potter films are as popular and cherished as their paper counterparts, which is predictable for a movie franchise based on a best-selling novel series. Only Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe have made more money at the global box office in the last two decades than the big-budget adaptations of JK Rowling’s Wizarding World. With new generations of children discovering the adventures of Harry Potter and his closest friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, the eight films are essential family entertainment, especially over the holiday season.
However, Warner Bros. has released two films in its Fantastic Beasts prequel film series, both set in the 1920s and featuring a youthful Dumbledore.
With ten (and counting) films in the magical storey, there’s plenty to keep fans entertained.
