The Descent

It has been 15 years since the movie came and I still haven’t seen many movies scarier than this. The Descent (2005) is still one of the most terrifying horror films. I decided to rewatch it as Amazon Prime has added it to their library. And it still scared the crap out of me. This movie is brutal, terrifying, and claustrophobic as hell. I actually felt even more scared on this second rewatch. The cinematography is fantastic.

Do the Right Thing

Spike Lee is really a legend. But, honestly saying, I was never a big fan of his work. Until I saw ‘Do The Right Thing’. It is Spike Lee’s one of the most celebrated movies. The thing is if you watch this movie now, it might not have the same impact as it had back then. The commentary on this movie on race relations in America is just astounding in my opinion. And the reality is there are so many things that didn’t work in this movie. But, Spike Lee really put his heart and soul into the movie and this movie shows that in the most amazing way ever.

The Host (2006)

I am not a big fan of monster movies. But as I have said time and time again, some movies are exceptions. And The Host is one of them. This movie is not a simple monster movie in any way. It had great monster thrills, touching character moments, and even some solid comedy. And the thing that shocks me most is that not many people talk about this movie. I don’t know-how is that possible. There are some really amazing scenes in this movie that make it such a wonderful watch.

The Social Network

I watch lots of biopics. But The Social Network might be in my Top 5 biopics of all time. I think that they have enough material for the sequel now after all the controversies with Zuckerberg. But we are not talking about that. This movie really showed us the scary side of technology. I am still not over the fact that King’s Speech won the Oscar over The Social Network. Jesse Eisenberg really pulled out a role of his life in this movie and that is not talked about enough.

Young Frankenstein

The first thing I remember while rewatching this movie is how amazing of an actor Gene Wilder is. I can’t get my head around how talented this man really is. Now, getting back to the movie, If you are planning to watch this one, remember one thing. That this movie came out in 1974 and lots of things have changed since then. So, if you don’t like the movie, it is absolutely fine. But, for me, Young Frankenstein still remains one of the most twisted silly movies ever.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie

It is one of my favorite musical movies of all time. This musical will make you laugh, cry, and cheer in every possible scene. I have never seen any movie that brought out my emotions this strongly. This is such a positive movie that will you feel all warm in your happy glands. And the best part about this movie is obviously the music of the movie. Which is really catchy.

500 Days of Summer

Is there any other movie that has defined the romance genre this strongly? I mean, there have been but still, (500) Days of Summer is one of the best. This movie accurately describes most people’s reality and it’s not black and white. Tom’s loveable and loathable. Summer is too. Their relationship is at times picturesque and at other times a total mess.
