It is definitely one of the best horror series I have ever seen and there is no doubt about it. From cast to plot to actual horror elements, everything was perfect in this movie. I really think you should watch it this weekend.
Gerald’s Game
Yes, I know that it is more of a thriller. But I am putting it here because it narrowly edges the horror-thriller realm. n terms of creepy thrillers, this is definitely at the top of the list. I don’t know why people don’t rate this movie because it is absolutely amazing. It is so gripping and creepy that you will love it. People talk about movies like IT, but that is nothing compared to Gerald’s Game because this movie is next level. The flashback scenes will make you think about the whole scenario of the movie and you will love it. I am still not over the hand scene and it blew my mind. Go watch this movie and then you can thank me.

You knew this was coming. This movie is so good that it kick-started a whole new franchise and its spin-off too. Conjuring is considered one of the best horror movies out there. And they are right to say so. For the longest time, Conjuring defined what horror movies should be. That really calculated jump scares, that ominous music, and the way it says “Based on a true story” at the end, just ramp up the tension more and more.

Cargo doesn’t actually feel like a horror movie at first sight. But is actually a wonderful movie. “Stranded in rural Australia in the aftermath of a violent pandemic, an infected father desperately seeks a new home for his infant child, and a means to protect her from his own changing nature”. And this movie will destroy you completely. Not from a horror point of view but from an emotional point of view. I was a mess at the end of this movie. In the Tall Grass
On paper, In the Tall Grass is a weird movie and shouldn’t work. But it is truly astonishing The HP Lovecraft vibes were amazing. In The Tall Grass is a Netflix movie based on Stephen King and Joe Hill’s 2012 novel of the same name. And it was not the kind of movie I was expecting it to be. And I really liked the concept of the time loop. Overall it is a really interesting movie and you should definitely watch it no matter what.

As of now you already know that how big of a Jake Gyllenhaal fan I am. As someone said, “Jake Gyllenhaal is a 5-star man in a 1-star world.” The only downside of the movie is that it has so many unnecessary plot points that it forgets to explain. But the main plot is something else. It might have been an even better movie if they didn’t promote it as a horror thriller. But it is a fun watch that will entertain you throughout.
Nightcrawler
Nightcrawler is not your orthodox horror movie. But sometimes horror is not about jump scares and all. Sometimes it is about how it mentally affected you. And I was really scared after Nightcrawler. This is the best version of Jake Gyllenhaal we have got on the screen ever. When I watched Nightcrawler for the first time, I wasn’t able to stop thinking about it for some reason. The creepy nature of Jake’s character will make you uncomfortable throughout the movie. This is the kind of uneasy movie that will make you uncomfortable every 10 minutes and that was the intention of the movie.
