I didn’t include Civil War because it was about something else. But the first two parts are all about America. I mean how can we make a list about America and not include Captain America himself. I know he is a fictional character and there are better watched. But in terms of entertainment, Captain America might be the best watch on the list. And don’t forget, The Winter Soldier features the best action scene ever in Marvel Cinematic Universe and it ain’t even close. So, watch both of these movies, as they are really good adrenaline-increasing movies and will keep you entertained.
Lincoln
I mean, you knew it was coming. So, let’s get this out of the way already. Personally, I love this movie so much that I can’t even describe it in mere words. It is obviously a patriotic choice of including Lincoln in this list. But you can say that about every movie on the list here. But Lincoln is one of the finest movies that Spielberg has ever made. From the script that is so wonderfully written, to the cast members that did their job brilliantly. It is a delight to watch. And the way it shines a light on American politics is just brilliant. If my ratings matter in any way, it will be 10 on 10 for Lincoln without any doubt. Just watch this masterpiece and you won’t regret it.
Independence Day
I had to include it here. The final monologue scene is enough to place this movie on this list. And it’s not just that, the whole movie is so amazingly made and is such a good watch. I have heard people saying that Independence Day is fast-paced, but it is not. I had the privilege to watch this movie in the halls when it was re-released and I will watch it again and again. Independence Day is such a well-made movie. Its story is simple but also big in scale. It was the first movie of its kind. I might get some hate by saying this but here I go. Independence Day is the most American movie that wasn’t directed by an American.
Born on the Fourth of July
Tom Cruise’s best-ever performance and that is undisputed. I watched this movie expecting that we will get some action in Vietnam, but it was so disturbing that I loved it. I recently rewatched this movie and I am still disturbed and that is exactly what this movie wanted to achieve. The scene where Tom Cruise takes his team into the village to show the survivor is still embedded into my memory and it won’t leave anytime soon. This movie really shows the struggles and sacrifices people went through to give us what we have today. It won’t be a pleasant watch in any sense, but it is an essential watch.
Hamilton
I didn’t think that Hollywood was able to make a movie like this now. But Hamilton really blew my mind. I am not into musicals that much, but my obsession with Hamilton is on the next level. Hamilton might be one of the most important art pieces of this decade. Hamilton is “A live recording of the hit musical that tells the story of the United States founding father Alexander Hamilton, his rise and fall, his long rivalry with Aaron Burr, and his difficult relationship with his wife Eliza Schuyler.” And it is brilliant. So, go watch it now.
